About the project
Saina RMS is a revenue management system for airlines based on an algorithm for changing the price of air tickets by continuously analyzing a number of dynamic parameters.
Problem
Airline analysts cannot always predict potential flight-related issues, which can include various events and anomalies, making it difficult to respond quickly
This is critical when making decisions aimed at:
  • optimizing flight load
  • increasing occupancy and average fare
  • adjusting flight planning and route networks
  • managing pricing and available seat quotas
Hypotheses
  • Reaction speed to anomalies: if analysts can create customizable alerts for key events (e.g., flight delays, sudden changes in demand or prices), they will be able to respond faster to unusual situations and make corrective decisions
  • Decision accuracy: if all critical events and anomalies are displayed in one place and can be customized based on specific parameters, analysts will be able to make more precise decisions regarding flight load, fares, and seat allocation
  • Personalization and priorities: if each user can configure alerts according to their tasks and priorities, it will reduce noise and increase focus on truly critical events
  • Team efficiency: if analysts receive only relevant real-time notifications, monitoring and coordinating actions within the team will take less time, improving overall productivity
  • Business impact: if timely alerts help respond faster to market changes, this will directly increase revenue management efficiency, average fares, flight occupancy, and reduce financial risks
Design Process
  • Market analysis: researched competitors and international solutions for flight monitoring and alert systems
  • Design: created the interface for building alerts with multiple selectable parameters and the ability to track flight events and anomalies
  • Testing: conducted usability testing with future users, prepared tasks, prototyped the interface, collected feedback, and refined the design
  • Team collaboration: aligned functional requirements with the Product Manager and CEO, worked closely with front-end and back-end developers, and conducted design reviews
  • Presentation: presented and defended solutions to the CEO and Product Manager
Implementation
The Alert Module was implemented, enabling users to create and customize notifications under any name with parameters critical to their tasks
